The school definitely prepares you for college if you take any advanced courses and even allows you to get ahead in college with dual enrollment courses! The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, although I wish they would redecorate the outside because it is still an old building that has been around for ages. Senior: Loved the staff and the many different options you can choose from for electives! The teachers work with students to make sure they are doing their best and getting on top of their work. At both Higley High School and Williams Field they had both the early childhood and criminal justice programs, but I think they also should have had options such as geography, astronomy, different programs that would allow students to really get to know themselves before their pushed out into the real world and then have to decide what they want to do with their life. The Higley District had lots of different extra curricular activities for students to participate in, however I believe that the school district should have a larger variety of electives and class options for students to be able to learn about what they're really interested in. I attended Higley High School and was apart of numerous clubs and extra activities, however I do wish they had, had different class options. It has taught me lots of things other than academics. However, overall, I would recommend going to Hamilton. Another con is that the school is so big many of the times it is very hard to get to class on time. However, some con's to the school are that because there are so many students, the traffic in the mornings and the afternoons is very high. You get to meet many new people since the school has over 4000 student yearly, and because of that, we also have lots of different clubs and sports people can join, such as band, Science Olympiad, Speech and Debate, baseball, softball, tennis, etc. I also feel that the atmosphere of the school is very much student-centered with many different events throughout the year such as Spirit Weeks, football games, and festivals.
Some pro's of going to Hamilton is the constant support from teachers you get throughout the year through office hours, study sessions, etc. Sophomore: I feel that Hamilton High School is an average high school with its own differences.
